The brief
Wren & Heath Press needed sixty illustrations for a pocket field guide to the birds of the Atlantic coast, printed in two colours to keep the price down.
What I did
Sixty ink drawings from field sketches and museum skins, each drawn for two-colour printing, with a consistent pose so readers can compare birds at a glance.
Result
The first print run of 5,000 sold out in four months and the guide is now in its third printing.
